Uzakrota Travel Summit and Bidroom's expansion into the Turkish market

On the 17th of November our Director of Operations, Marcin Wesołowski represented Bidroom at the Uzakrota Travel Summit in Istanbul.

The summit is one of the biggest travel-related events in Turkey. There, more than 1,500 industry professionals get a chance to listen to 70 speakers in 5 different halls talk about current issues in the travel industry. Topics discussed at the conference included the state of different branches of the industry, observed trends, PR and Marketing, globalization, technology, AI, and of course, online platforms.

Mr Wesołowski had his own segment at the Air Canada Main Stage. The title of his presentation was “The Lines between travel search and e-Commerce are Blurring”. The speech was an introduction to the current situation in the OTAs market from hotels’ perspective and new approaches and ideas in terms of booking portals. A revolutionary idea of Bidroom, commission free portal, was presented to members of Turkish travel industry representatives.

The presentation was very well received and got many of the attendees talking about our platform. Its popularity resulted in many people wanting to help us grow and expand into the Turkish market.

One of them was Adnan Mordeniz. For years he was a Small Hotels Advisor, and offered advisory services to small & boutique hotel owners and investors, as well as those wishing to become involved in the hospitality industry. Previously he was a hotelier, for 15 years. He trusted our idea and decided to help us spread it into his country.

He joined Bidroom as Market Manager for Turkey. He will be the main point of contact for our hotel partners there, also helping us strengthen our brand in the local market, which we consider to be an important destination for our users.
