Bidroom announced the Best Travel Start-up of the Year

On December 21st, the winners of the Uzakrota Travel Awards 2017 have been announced. In each of the 20 categories, the panel of judges, consisting of some of the most important figures in the Turkish hospitality industry, had to carefully analyze and choose the best of the bests from the pole of 10 candidates. Important factors in making this decision were both the general idea behind the business, as well as the predicted impact it may have on the Turkish market.

Such careful evaluation makes us that much more proud to announce, that our company was named the Uzakrota’s Best Travel Start-up of the Year.

The Uzakrota Travel Summit is one of the biggest travel-related events in Turkey. There, more than 1,500 industry professionals get a chance to listen to 70 speakers in 5 different halls talk about current issues in the travel industry. Tens of topics discussed at the conference include the state of different branches of the industry, observed trends, PR and Marketing, globalization, technology, AI, and of course, online platforms.

During this year’s summit in Istanbul, Bidroom, represented by our Director of Operations, Marcin Wesołowski, presented a completely new approach to the OTAs market.

Mr Wesołowski had his own segment at the Air Canada Main Stage. His speech was an introduction to the current situation in the OTAs market from hotels’ perspective and included new ideas in terms of booking portals. A revolutionary idea of Bidroom, commission-free platform, was presented to the members of the Turkish travel industry.

It was the first step to our company’s expansion in Turkey. Shortly after the summit, Bidroom’s Country Manager for Turkey was announced and we began full operations on the Turkish market. Mr Adnan Mordeniz, who took on the role, is currently working on extending Bidroom’s offer in the country. It will ensure a variety of choice for our users travelling there.

The award is a proof, that our efforts paid off, and that choosing Turkey as one of our markets was an excellent choice. We are pleased to see, that the country’s professionals agree with our vision. We are looking forward to the further expansion of Bidroom in this wonderful country.
